As has become the norm among major automakers, BMW is field testing their future EV powertrain with influential urban consumers in what they’re calling the BMW ActiveE Field Trial. The set of 700 Electronauts, as BMW referes to them, can show off their cool new ride to envious early adopter friends while BMW sucks in valuable field testing data and generates solid buzz for their pipeline of EVs headed for showrooms in the coming years (called i3 and i8). It’s a win win situation. I totally get the reasoning behind the decals from a marketing standpoint but it makes the car look like it belongs on the set of Tron.
